- Note: The 10th USCT appears to be the sole regiment of Paine’s Third Division, XXV Corps, Army of the James which did NOT participate in the two Fort Fisher expeditions. This regiment became part of an “attached brigade” in the First Division, XXV Corps, but I’m not sure when. It might have happened unofficially prior to January 31, when this OOB was created. More research is needed.25
Ninth Offensive Order of Battle:
Third Brigade | Third Division | XXV Corps | Army of the James | Union Army (may have left this unit in January already)
Third Brigade | Second Division | XXV Corps | Army of the James | Union Army (parent unit by at least March 1865)26
Attached Brigade | First Division | XXV Corps | Army of the James | Union Army (temporarily att. in March 1865)27,28

- Note: The 10th USCT appears to be the sole regiment of Paine’s Third Division, XXV Corps, Army of the James which did NOT participate in the two Fort Fisher expeditions. This regiment first changed organizations to 3/2/XXV/AotJ and then became part of an “attached brigade” in the 1/XXV/AotJ, but I’m not sure when each of these moves happened. More research is needed.30

Strange history for this unit. One of the original regiments in the African Brigade, but other than Wilson’s Wharf, doesn’t seem to have seen much combat.
