Colonel J. Horace King was no longer commanding Sanders’ Brigade on 30 November. Colonel W. H. Forney appears on an inspection report of Mahone’s Division dated November 30, 1864 as Commanding the Brigade. (Confederate Service Records, National Archives, Microcopy M311 Roll 193, for William H. Forney, Colonel, 10th Alabama Infantry Regiment). Forney had been exchanged as a prisoner of war and returned to duty after recovering from wounds suffered at Gettysburg, PA on June 2, 1863.
