Lieut. Col. N. P. Pond arrived home a few days from Fortress Monroe. He was wounded in an engagement several weeks ago, and until starting for home had been in a hospital. He suffered very much from his wound. He is now improving and gets around quite expeditious on crutches. He designs returning to the army as soon as he is able to re-assume his official duties.1
