Maj. Gen. Philip Henry Sheridan, USA, is repelled by Maj. Gen. Wade Hampton, CSA, at Trevilian Station, VA. Sheridan retreats back to join Lieut. Gen. Ulysses S. Grant, USA, near Petersburg, VA, deciding against trying to meet up with Maj. Gen. David Hunter, USA, around Lynchburg, VA.
Skirmish at White House Landing, VA, as the Campaign from the Rapidan to the James River, VA, is concluded.
