Petersburg, VA – Pamplin Historical Park and the National Museum of the Civil War Soldier will be open Mondays through Saturdays beginning March 1. The Park is open Fridays through Sundays during the winter months. Operating hours will remain 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Groups of ten or more may request a reservation for a personalized tour any day of the week.
The Park’s Director of Operations, Patrick Olienyk, said that strong attendance and generous donations from Park members have made it possible to expand the Park’s operating schedule. “Last spring we remained closed on weekends but our increased funding and the help of our volunteers allows us to open on Saturdays this spring,” said Olienyk.
Olienyk added that interest in school field trips during March, April, and May remains high. “We do have a few empty slots for student groups but they are going fast,” he said.
Park officials said that they expect Pamplin Historical Park to be open daily during the heavy summer tourist season.
