Unit: 104th Pennsylvania
Unit Affiliation: Defenses of Bermuda Hundred, Army of the James
Title: History of the 104th Pennsylvania Regiment, From August 22nd, 1861, to September 30th, 1864
Author: Davis, William W. H.
BTC’s Take: Despite the title, this book DOES cover the 104th Pennsylvania Battalion and later the reconstituted regiment at the Siege of Petersburg. There are only a few pages relating to this service, because the author, Colonel Davis, did not have access to the records of the unit after the original members mustered out. He received information on the unit from commanders Hart and Kephart. What little information he did receive was pretty good. I was able to glean some unit leader infor, a unit strength, and some information on exactly where the unit was located on Bermuda Hundred during its time at the Siege. In addition, a nice roster ends the book.
